Day 1 - Delhi

Your trip to Northern India begins when you arrive at New Delhi airport, where you will be met by our representative who will help you drive to the hotel. You can relax at the hotel or explore the city.

Delhi, the capital city of India, is one of the largest and fastest growing metropolises in the world. It is a bustling city, ever growing and moulding itself with time. The city has a colourful history which is embodied in its monuments, forts and historical places. A visitor can choose to sample the culture of the city in its vibrant markets or taste the Indian cuisine in its numerous eateries. Delhi has something to offer to everyone.

Day 2 - Delhi to Agra

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Agra, en route visiting Sikandra - the red sandstone mausoleum of Emperor Akbar.

On arrival at Agra, you will check into your hotel and freshen up for an afternoon visit to the Taj Mahal, regarded as one of the Wonders of the World.

The next stop will be at the massive Agra Fort which had been the seat of Mughal dynasty for several years. You will then visit Itmad-ud-daulah Tomb, Jama Masjid and few other significant places of interest around the city. Your day will end at the hotel in Agra before moving on to the next leg of your journey.

Day 3 - Agra to Jaipur

Shortly after breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Jaipur, en route visiting world famous Mughal capital Fatehpur Sikri, built by Emperor Akhbar in the honour of Sufi saint Shaikh Salim Chisti. Later in the day as you arrive at Jaipur, you will check into the hotel and can spend the rest of the day at leisure. You will spend the night in Jaipur.

Day 4 - Jaipur

After breakfast, a full day city tour of the pink city begins where you will be visiting Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace. After an exhaustive day around the city, spend the night at your hotel.

Jaipur is remarkable for its marvelous architecture and town planning that dates back to the time of the Mughals. Even today, you can see men in their traditional attires with huge colorful turbans, long and fierce moustaches and lips that spontaneously crease into a heartwarming smile. Settled in the rugged hills of the Aravallis, Jaipur is the pristine jewel in the desert sands of Rajasthan. A city like Jaipur, where modernity and tradition live hand-in-hand, is truly rare. Perhaps this is what makes it an attractive destination for tourists who flock to Jaipur, year after year. The city presents a unique synthesis of culture that has to be experienced in order to be appreciated.

Day 5 - Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park

Early morning you will set out for a half day excursion to Amer Fort, in the ancient city of Amber about 11 kms from Jaipur.

Amer Fort is an ancient palace complex located atop a hill. The palace depicts a beautiful confluence of Hindu and Mughal architecture and stands out for its aesthetic appeal. It was the capital of the ruling Rajput clan called Kachhawa of Amber, before the capital was shifted to Jaipur.

In the afternoon you will depart for Ranthambore. Upon arrival check in at our resort and enjoy the remaining part of the day at leisure.

Day 6 - Ranthambore National Park

You are in the tiger haven of India – Ranthambore! You will start the day with an early morning safari in the national park. After driving around the park for a few hours, you will return to the resort for a late breakfast.

You can relax in the serene environment of the resort and head out for a game safari after lunch. The game safari in the late afternoons is ideal to spot tigers lazing around waterholes. You will return to the resort at dusk when the park closes for the day. Ranthambore National Park is encompassed by rocky hill crests, dotted with water pools and contains a number of temples and forts. The Park has a rich variety of wildlife. Though best known for its Tigers, the park is also home to a variety of birds such as Peafowl, Cotton Pygmy Geese and Pheasant-tailed Jacanas.

Day 7 - Ranthambore National Park

Today you will begin with early morning safaris. Dawn is the best time to spot animals and birds. In the winter months, the landscape is beautiful and you can see the mist disappear with the rising sun!

After the morning safari, you will return to the resort for a late breakfast. You can relax at the resort, go for a stroll in the vicinity or just catch up on some sleep! After lunch, you will set out for a drive to sight some wildlife to return at dusk after the park closes for the day.
If time permits, you may be able to visit Ranthambhore Fort.

Day 8 - Ranthambore National Park to Delhi

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Sawai Madhopur Railway Station for a train back to New Delhi. Upon arrival, our representatives will receive you at the railway station and arrange for your transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.

Day 9 - Delhi

The trip ends today. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the international airport for your home bound flight.

Basic - Designed for travellers who enjoy the outdoors, are in good health, and want an interesting yet relaxing wildlife experience. These trips may involve walking, trekking, hiking, cycling, rafting or sea kayaking at a very slow pace. Certain trips involve safari drives for a maximum of five hours a day. Most of these trips are usually a week long in duration.

The ‘Classic Yala Tour’, ‘Kenya Luxury’ and ‘Luxury in Botswana’ itineraries are the best examples of this activity level as you’ll have a relaxed holiday. These trips are mostly about culture and sightseeing. There will be exploring on foot and safaris drives involved as well. Most travellers will find themselves comfortable with the basic activity level trips.
Other Activity Levels
Moderate - Requires a spirit of adventure and some degree of fitness, as the trip might consist of many activities or long journeys. These adventures involve walking, trekking, hiking, cycling, rafting, sea kayaking, or driving for long hours, at times for up to six to eight hours a day at a steady pace. The maximum altitude is 3000m, so it requires you to be reasonably physically fit. The trips are usually 6 to 12 days in duration.

The ‘Only Tigers’, a 11 day itinerary, is a perfect example of this activity level as it involves long journeys for up to eight hours a day and a bit of walking. Also, ‘Around Spitsbergen - Kvitøya and Beyond ’, a 10 day itinerary is another example of this trip activity level.

You should be reasonably fit because you will be travelling in extreme weather conditions.
High - Fitness is vital at this level, as the environment traversed may be remote and challenging. These rugged experiences include long walks, trekking, cycling or rafting in isolated areas through variable weather conditions for up to eight to ten hours a day. These trips are usually 13 to 19 days in duration.

The ‘Ultimate Nepal Trekker’, is a good example of this trip activity level as it involves hiking and trekking for up to eight hours a day. Maximum altitude will be 4000m and you need to be very fit in order to withstand the weather conditions. Also, ‘Kilimanjaro Trek- Rongai route’ is another example that applies to this this activity level. Good physical condition is essential and previous hill-walking experience or preparation is advisable.
Advanced - At this level, PlanetWildlife recommends previous experience of the activity involved. These are our most challenging and advanced expeditions. They include long walks, cycling, trekking, hiking or rafting in variable weather conditions for more than ten hours a day. These trips may often be over 3 weeks in duration.

The ‘South Atlantic Odyssey’, a 31-day itinerary, is a perfect example of this trip activity level as it involves sailing for long hours in extreme weather conditions. Also, the ‘Snow Leopard Experience’ itinerary is another example which best suits this activity level. Ascents and descents are over 1000m at altitudes up to 6000m and the climate can be rigorous and challenging. Excellent physical condition and previous mountain trekking experience or appropriate preparation is essential.
