An action packed day awaits you as you head for Tarangire National Park. Established in 1970, Tarangire National Park, lies to the southeast of Lake Manyara and covers an area of 2,850 sq km. Its name is derived from the Tarangire river that flows through here. The park lies on the traditional migration route of several species of wildlife. It is home to a large number of elephants and tree-climbing African pythons. Lesser kudus, elands, lions, leopards, and gerenuks can also be found in this beautiful park noted for its baobab trees.

Travel to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated 180km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. Although commonly referred to as a crater, it is actually a caldera, which is a cauldron-like volcanic feature usually formed by the collapse of land following a volcanic eruption. The Ngorongoro Caldera is the largest unbroken, un-flooded caldera in the world. Ngorongoro offers some unique sights and you see herds of wild animals grazing around on the crater-floor.
This afternoon, you will descend 2,000 feet (over 600m) to the floor of the crater for a day tour with picnic lunches. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food.
Check in to Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge for the night. This award-winning lodge is dramatically located on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Leave Ngorongoro and drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge - the cradle of mankind. Olduvai Gorge is a steep-sided ravine in the Great Rift Valley that is 48km long and stretches through eastern Africa. The site is known for British archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains.
Go on an afternoon game drive into the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, or a pride of lions lounging in the shade.
Check into Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge for the night. Located next to the famous Western Corridor and Grumeti River, the lodge has been designed to blend in completely with its surrounding. The Serengeti National Park, in the Serengeti area of Tanzania is the country's oldest national park. Measuring 14,763 sq km, the park is well known for its healthy population of wildlife, particularly the Big Five, which include the lion, the African leopard, the African elephant, the black rhinoceros and the Cape buffalo. Due to the biodiversity and ecological significance of the area, the park has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
You now have two full days of morning and afternoon game viewing in the Serengeti!
After a final morning safari, bid farewell to the Serengeti and travel to Lake Manyara National Park.
Set out on a final early morning game drive into the Serengeti to spot wildlife you might not have seen yet. Then travel to Lake Manyara National Park via the Ngorongoro Highlands. Stop for lunch at Gibbs Farm, that lies half way between the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. An award-winning guesthouse, Gibbs Farm is set amongst pristine landscapes and offers stunning views. Enjoy healthy farm fresh cuisine and attentive hospitality here.
After lunch, continue on to Lake Manyara National Park. If you travel here during the wet season (November-June), you can visit some of the gorgeous waterfalls that spill over the park's gorgeous landscapes.
Check into Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge for the night. Built in traditional African style, Serena Lodge offers stunning views overlooking Lake Manyara's pristine waters. Rooms are housed in traditional "rondavels" - circular, double-storied buildings with thatched roofs. Your Tanzania wildlife tour ends today with a morning game drive into Lake Manyara National Park to see its famous tree-climbing lions, and then a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Go on a morning game drive into Lake Manyara National Park. The park's inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree-climbing lions, elephants, wildebeests, and zebras. It is said that every East African animal is found here in abundance. The park is home the highest concentration of baboons in Africa. Lake Manyara is frequented by numerous migratory birds every year and is a good place to spot flamingos, long-crested eagles, and grey-headed kingfishers, amongst other species.
After your game drive, travel back to Arusha and proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home to end your Tanzania wildlife holiday.
